Awards
There are many opportunities for athletes to compete and achieve
recognition for their participation in the various Summer and Winter
season events.
During the track season athletes compete at many meetings where
their results are registered and recorded by Official, Qualified
Judges. This data is collated and compared to County and Amatuer
Athletic Association (AAA) standards. Athletes are graded according to
level and age group and have their achievements and personal bests
recognised by being eligible to receive various certificates and
awards.
In addition, Camberley & District Athletic Club operate a Club
Standard award scheme, whereby athletes achieving Club Standards in
their age group become eligible to receive certificates at the end of
the season.
Athletes can also be recognised through the Norwich Union and
UKAthletics Shine Awards. Young athletes are measured against National
Standards and awarded points, certificates and medals
accordingly.
At our Annual General Meeting (AGM) an award is given for
contribution, effort, team work, good conduct and is not
necessarily linked to competitive results. All our athletes are valued
and have an opportunity to be nominated. Our AGM award ceremony is a
great chance for athletes to be congratulated and encouraged to build
on their enjoyment of athletics and their potential.
